Vestibular Therapy/Vertigo

Restoring Balance Through Specialized Care

Vestibular therapy is a clinically proven, specialized form of physical therapy designed to address dizziness, vertigo, and balance dysfunction arising from disorders of the inner ear or central nervous system. At CPT, treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms – including conditions such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, and labyrinthitis – followed by a structured, individualized treatment plan. Most patients achieve significant, lasting improvement within a short course of care, frequently without the need for ongoing medication. When appropriate, our therapists will also recognize symptoms that require referral for further medical assessment.

How Vestibular Therapy Works

Vestibular therapy at CPT combines hands-on clinical techniques with progressive exercise programming to retrain the relationship between the inner ear, eyes, and brain. Treatment may include canalith repositioning maneuvers to address displaced inner ear crystals, gaze stabilization exercises to improve visual-vestibular coordination, and balance retraining to restore functional stability. Each plan is developed around the patient’s specific diagnosis, symptom profile, and functional goals – ensuring care that is precise, progressive, and measurable.

Vestibular rehabilitation is designed not only to reduce symptoms, but to restore the confidence and physical capacity needed for safe, independent daily function.

Patients can expect to:
