Kinesio Taping Method

What Is Kinesio Taping?

Developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1979, the Kinesio Taping Method is a rehabilitative taping technique designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process.

Kinesio taping has been shown to have positive effects on the skin, lymphatic and circulatory systems, fascia, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. It can be used alongside other treatments and modalities, making it effective both for rehabilitation and as a preventative measure. Unlike traditional supports, Kinesio Tape provides stability and support to muscles and joints without restricting your range of motion, helping to extend the benefits of manual therapy long after your appointment.

How It Works

At CPT, your therapist will perform a thorough evaluation to determine whether Kinesio taping is right for you. In some cases, underlying conditions may also need treatment in addition to taping.

After the assessment, your therapist will create a personalized treatment plan designed to maximize recovery and function. The latex-free Kinesio Tape we use is safe for patients of all ages, from children to seniors, and can be worn for several days at a time, allowing continuous support throughout daily activities.

Kinesio Taping can provide multiple benefits, including:

Support and stability for muscles and joints without restricting movement

Reduced pain and discomfort

Improved circulation and lymphatic flow

Enhanced rehabilitation and prevention of injury

Extended results from manual therapy and other treatments
